Community rules
Hynoe should feel competitive, funny, social, and alive without becoming unsafe or impossible to moderate. These rules apply to Hynoe-controlled community features when they are enabled, and may also be used as the baseline for Hynoe SMP/Discord moderation.
Minecraft Chat is also public: its website posts are relayed to Discord and the Minecraft server. The same conduct rules apply across those connected spaces. Use the moderation contact route below for Minecraft Chat issues.
1. Treat people like people
- No targeted harassment, stalking, repeated unwanted contact, or coordinated pile-ons.
- No hateful attacks or dehumanizing abuse based on protected characteristics.
- No credible threats, encouragement of real-world violence, or attempts to intimidate someone into fearing for their safety.
2. Protect minors
- No sexual content involving minors, grooming, exploitation, solicitation, or attempts to move minors into unsafe private interactions.
- Do not ask younger users for private identifying information.
- Public website identity is a display name, not verified real-world identity. Do not impersonate staff or another person.
3. Keep private information private
- No doxxing, posting another person's address, phone number, private email, government identifiers, passwords, tokens, private logs, or other non-public personal information without permission.
- Do not pressure users to reveal their real name, exact location, school, workplace, or other private details.
- Privacy/security reports belong in a private channel, not public chat.
4. No scams, impersonation, or malicious links
- Do not impersonate Hynoe staff, moderators, creators, or other users to deceive people.
- No phishing, malware, credential theft, fraudulent giveaways, fake payment requests, or intentionally deceptive links.
- Do not falsely claim that Hynoe, Mojang, Microsoft, or another company endorses a product or transaction.
5. Play fair in shared systems
- Do not exploit bugs, tamper with score submissions, forge public leaderboard results, attack APIs, or use automation to disrupt shared systems.
- Report serious exploits privately so they can be fixed instead of teaching others how to abuse them.
- Accessibility tools and normal client/device features are not cheating merely because they make interaction easier.
6. Content and spam
- No flooding, repeated spam, disruptive advertising, or content intended mainly to make a channel unusable.
- Keep sexual or graphic content out of Hynoe spaces unless a future space explicitly allows lawful age-restricted content; current general community spaces do not.
- Respect copyright and other creators' rights. Do not use Hynoe spaces to distribute obviously pirated or stolen material.
7. Moderation
Moderators may remove content, warn users, mute/restrict features, or ban access to Hynoe-controlled spaces when reasonably needed for these rules, security, legal obligations, or community safety. Moderation decisions may consider context, severity, repetition, credible evidence, and risk to others.
Do not evade a Hynoe ban or restriction by creating alternate identities or asking someone else to act for you.
8. Reporting
Use the official Hynoe Discord linked from hynoesmp.com to contact moderators. For privacy, child-safety, threats, or security matters, ask for a private conversation and avoid reposting sensitive material publicly.
